Kerry Armstrong was born in 1958 in Melbourne, Australia. She played the role of Dianne Bates in Ocean Girl for two seasons from 1994 to 1996.
Early Life and Career
Kerry could be seen on the television screen as early as 1974 in Marion then as a weather girl. She took a dramatic role in the show Prisoner in 1979 and also took on a role in Skyways. Kerry worked in the U.S. for a time taking roles on such shows as Dynasty and One Life to Live. She also joined the group The Actors' Gang. Upon returning to Australia Kerry had roles in Police Rescue, All Together Now, and Halfway Across the Galaxy and Turn Left. She also had a role in the film Hunting which earned her an AFI nomination for Best Actress. She took the role of Dianne Bates in 1994 and stayed with the show for two seasons.
Life After Ocean Girl
Kerry took home two Australian Film Institute awards for Best actress for her roles in the show SeaChange and for the film Lantana, both in the same year making her one of only two women to make that accomplishment. Kerry has also taken roles in shows MDA and Bed of Roses and has also completed several films. She has been married a few times and is a mother to three boys, the oldest son is named Sam and the younger two are twins.
