Lauren Hewett was born on the 8th of January 1981 in Sydney, Australia. She played the role of Mera.
Early Life and Career[]
Lauren Hewett began her acting career when she was six years old. She studied both dance and vocals. After apearing in a commercial for Quik she scored the role of 'Baby' in the stage musical "The Seven Little Australians." Lauren won two AFI Awards, one in 1991 for "Act of Necessity" and the other in 1993 for the role of 'X' in "Halfway Across the Galaxy and Turn Left." Lauren also appeared in other roles, notably was the role of Kylie Hastings in the popular Baz Luhrmann film Strictly Ballroom. In 1995 Lauren was cast in the role of Mera, Neri's sister in the Ocean Girl series, a role she reprised for three seasons.
Life After Ocean Girl[]
Lauren continued to pick up additional roles even while on Ocean Girl. She played 'Mikki Salter' in "Home and Away" and 'Kathy Morgan' in "Spellbinder: Land of the Dragon Lord." Lauren also appeared in the movie "The Echo of Thunder" and reappeared on the show "Home and Away" this time portraying 'Miranda Porter'. Her last appearance was in the film "Cubbyhouse".
